Downhole Tools
MPH International Trading Group is there to provide the downhole and completion solutions you need. We're a independent supplier for drilling and intervention operations, and with supply and service centers around the globe, we can provide tools and support where you need them, when you need them.
Working with you to choose the right components for the formation and your operation, we can help you increase ROP, improve safety, and decrease nonproductive time.
Our Offerings:
- Downhole Tools for Well Construction
These tools are used during the initial drilling and casing phases. Their primary goal is to safely drill the borehole, guide the heavy structural steel pipes into the ground, and secure them with a permanent cement layer to establish wellbore integrity.
- Operational Phase: Drilling, running casing/liners, and cementing.
- Primary Objective: Build a stable, deep, and safely sealed underground conduit. [
- Key Equipment Examples:
- Drill Bits & Mud Motors: To cut rock formations and steer the wellpath.
- Liner Hangers: To anchor shorter casing strings inside a previous section.
- Centralizers: To center the casing string so cement distributes evenly around it.
- Float Equipment (Shoes/Collars): Act as check valves during primary cement injection.
- Downhole Tools for Completion Solutions
Once the well structure is built, completion tools are deployed to prepare the well for safe and optimized hydrocarbon production or injection. They isolate the exact oil or gas reservoirs, manage massive reservoir pressures, and ensure that reservoir sand doesn't ruin the asset.
- Operational Phase: Transition stage between drilling and continuous surface production.
- Primary Objective: Establish controlled pathways from the target reservoir up to the surface while protecting the well from blowing out.
- Key Equipment Examples:
- Production Packers: Mechanically isolate the target zone and protect outer casing from fluid pressures.
- Sand Control Screens & Gravel Packs: Filter loose reservoir sands and debris from clogging the stream.
- Subsurface Safety Valves (SSSVs): Fail-safe mechanisms to auto-shut downwells in surface emergencies.
- Frac Plugs & Multi-Stage Sleeves: Used for selective zonal fracturing and stimulation fluid flow.
- Downhole Tools for Production & Remedial Tools
These tools are used throughout the productive life of the well to optimize ongoing flow, maintain old equipment, or perform interventions to repair structural or geological damage over time.
- Operational Phase: Mid-to-late life cycle (Production, Workover, Intervention, and Abandonment).
- Primary Objective: Maximize daily hydrocarbon flow and clear out physical downhole problems that naturally develop over years of flow.
- Key Equipment Examples:
- Artificial Lift Systems: Equipment like Electric Submersible Pumps (ESPs), Gas Lift Valves, or Rod Pumps used to artificially boost fluids when natural pressure drops.
- Wellbore Cleanup & Jetting Tools: Jetting systems used to remove downhole scale, wax, or salt deposits restricting fluid flow.
- Casing Scrapers & Milling Tools: Mechanical scrapers that clean old metal walls and mill away old broken plugs.
- Fishing Tools: Overshots and spears deployed via slickline or coiled tubing to retrieve dropped or stuck debris blocking the well.
